National Poetry Month Day 13

April is here and I am out and about...missed a few days.

Here are some words - not by me- about April:

from D.H. Lawrence:

"This spring as it comes bursts up in bonfires green,
Wild puffing of emerald trees, and flame-filled bushes,
Thorn-blossom lifting in wreaths of smoke between
Where the wood fumes up and the watery, flickering rushes.
I am amazed at this spring, this conflagration
Of green fires lit on the soil of the earth, this blaze
Of growing, and sparks that puff in wild gyration,
Faces of people streaming across my gaze."

-  D. H. Lawrence, The Enkindled Spring

from Rainer Maria Rilke:

"Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night."
-  Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke
